Not a huge fan of the term best practices - and it should not be defined as a standard. If the 'best practice' is what is expected, then it has to be defined as the standard or operating policy.

Sharing ideas is great, a critical part of team work and group success. but not everyone can apply practices equally when the environment is designed for something else.

More a tale of caution than one that agrees or disagrees with the idea of 'best practice'.
